News and InformationPUBLIC NOTICE: On September 7th-9th, 2011, the Northampton Police Department will undergo assessment for re-accreditation. A team of assessors assigned by the Massachusetts Police Accreditation Commission will determine if the department meets established standards for best law enforcement practices in the areas of management, administration, operations and support services, so as to be recognized for professional excellence amongst other law enforcement agencies. The police department was first accredited in 2002 and was the sixth department in the state to achieve this status. The department was last accredited in 2009.
