The Northampton Police Department is offering a free Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) self-defense program for women. RAD is a nationally recognized program. NPD is offering the standard basic personal defense training that is geared toward females aged 14 years and older. This program provides basic knowledge and skills for physical self-defense and builds confidence at the same time.
This is a 12 hour course that will be held in the Cafetorium at JFK middle school. It will be held on Monday evenings from 6:00-8:00 pm from July 11, 2016 through August 15, 2016. Class size is limited to 12 students who must be in good physical health. There will be physical activities each night that build up to a simulation activity during the final class.
